DIRECTOR OF TENNIS
A native of the United Kingdom, Dave began playing tennis aged 3 after watching Wimbledon on TV, picking up a racquet and spending the next two weeks hitting a ball against the freshly painted garage door much to the annoyance of his Dad.
As a junior Dave played on the Goole performance squad winning the county championships as well as coming runner up in the finals of the prestigious national Robinson’s tournament to his nemesis Jonny Mumby.
After playing more than five times a week for over a decade within the LTA high-performance program Dave began to take more of an active interest in coaching and spent countless hours volunteering at local clubs. During high school he took the LTA Level 1 and 2 coaching courses before spending a year teaching at the Four Seasons and Top Shot tennis academies in Sydney Australia. Returning from his time in Australia Dave completed his Bachelor’s degree in geology from the University of Manchester whilst coaching at Whalley Range tennis club.
Having finished his degree and realizing his passion was for coaching not rocks Dave spent six months completing his level 3 coaching qualification before moving to the United States to work for Cliff Drysdale Tennis, the country’s leading tennis management company. Having immersed himself in both the companies and country’s culture in Texas and Florida Dave moved to Arizona in May 2015, immediately falling in love with the desert lifestyle and beautiful CopperWynd.
Dave prides himself on his ability to work with players of all ages and abilities through modifying and remodeling existing techniques alongside teaching beginners the fundamentals.
