The Health and Fitness Center provides a spacious environment for both cardiovascular and strength training. Club members enjoy preferred status at this Keith Foster-designed 18-hole course, which lies just downhill from the resort. Famous for its "Wicked 6" holes, the course begins at the upper mouth of a canyon and descends switchback-style to the canyon floor. There's plenty to keep players interested, including the stunning views.
The resort pools consist of a 2,200 square-foot social pool, a 1,000 square-foot two lane lap pool, and secluded mountainside jacuzzi.

The Club at CopperWynd offers over 35 fitness and aerobics classes weekly. Members are able to relieve stress and improve flexibility with a hot yoga class, tone their muscles by attending Pilates, relax with the slow graceful movements of Tai Chi, and get energized by the excitement of Zumba every single week.
A combination of Pilates, yoga and traditional sport training exercises are used to improve abdominal, back and stabilizing muscle strength.
Shallow water class utilizing pool toys for added buoyancy and flotation. Hydro-tone paddles and booties will be used to give you resistance in water for maximum muscle toning. A must for individuals needing to avoid impact on the joints. Pool temperature is kept at a comfortable level. Not designated as an Arthritis Class.
Advanced Aqua - 40 min. high-intensity aerobic conditioning.
This cross-training class will incorporate cardio, strength, endurance and core training using the BOSU with a major focus on balance training. Space is limited, please arrive early.
Enjoy the beautiful scenery as you GET FYT at CopperWynd's outdoor Functional Training Center. This class focuses on functional movement, exercises that improve the natural movement of the body. Every class/exercise is scalable and appropriate for all fitness levels. Pylometrics, body weight exercises, and functional training are incorporated in the class.
Work out in a small group setting using the gym floor equipment to build muscular strength, cardiovascular endurance and flexibility. Circuit training can burn up to 30 percent more calories than a typical weight workout and offers cardiovascular benefits.
Alternate between bursts of intense activity and fixed periods of low-intensity activity. Increase calorie burn, cardio endurance, muscle mass and metabolism. Every class/exercise is scalable and appropriate for all fitness levels. Pylometrics, body weight exercises, and functional training are incorporated into the class.
This class consists of a series of controlled exercises that engage the mind and body to develop strong, flexible muscles, without bulk, improve posture and enhance mental awaremess.

A Chinese martial art that combines diaphragmatic breathing and relaxation with slow, graceful and gentle movement.
A fun and exciting cardiovascular workout incorporating interval training. Combines weights and cardio. A great way to get your body moving!
Yoga Barre incorporating traditional Yoga poses and the ballet barre. The barre gives the participant stability to allow for deeper stretching and strength movements.
Power Flow Yoga links together the movement and breath of the yoga poses. One pose flows into the next cultivating balance, strength, flexibility and endurance. A fitness-based approach with less emphasis on detailed instruction for intermediate and advanced students.
Therapeutic Yoga Based on therapeutic exercises for the neck, shoulders, lower back, knees and other physical issues to fine tune one's ability to move gracefully and efficiently. The end result is deep relaxation.
Gentle Yoga A 45-minute practice for the neck and shoulders, followed by a 45-minute class for the lower back and hips.
Meditation For 10 minutes, students will explore the use of sound to lengthen the breath and quiet the mind. The remainder of the class will be a seated or supine experience of silence and mindfulness.
Iyengar Yoga In this 75-minute yoga class, Iyengar yoga principles are applied to focus on alignment and posture.

The feel happy workout. ZUMBA is a fusion of Latin and International dance themes creating a dynamic, exciting, effective fitness system. The routines feature aerobic/fitness interval training with a combination of fast and slow rhythms that tone and sculpt the body. It is a mixture of body sculpting movements with easy to follow dance steps.
All Levels ZUMBA is great for beginners. Class is performed focusing on low impact dance movements.

Q: What is the purpose of The Club?
A: The Club is a place where you and your family can relax, play, meet interesting and active new people, enjoy magnificent recreational facilities and participate in creative, entertaining and stimulating programs and activities. The goal of The Club is to provide an exceptional country club lifestyle and service excellence to our members and guests.
Q: What is the membership opportunity at The Club?
A: The Club at CopperWynd is an exclusive private country club located in the CopperWynd residential community on the border of Scottsdale and Fountain Hills, Arizona, featuring outstanding tennis, swimming, fitness, spa, dining, social and lodging facilities. The Club’s services and facilities are available to both residents of The Villas at CopperWynd and Cordabella at CopperWynd, as well as to residents from the surrounding communities. There are two classifications of memberships available: Premier and Signature.
Q: What recreational and social facilities will be available to members?

Q: What are the privileges of each membership classification?
A: Premier membership includes access to the tennis facilities, swimming pools, Fitness Center and programs, spa facilities and services, other clubhouse amenities, all of the dining and social activities and programs that The Club offers. Premier members will enjoy a four-day advance sign-up privilege to reserve tennis courts and are not required to pay court fees.
Signature membership offers members access to the swimming areas, Fitness Center and programs, spa facilities and services, dining and other clubhouse amenities, as well as all of the social activities and programs The Club offers.
Q: What am I obligated to pay for a membership in The Club?
A: You are obligated to pay a non-refundable initation fee for the Premier and Signature memberships in an amount determined by The Club from time to time, together with the applicable monthly dues.
Q: May I invite guests to The Club?
A: Having your friends enjoy The Club’s outstanding facilities with you is a wonderful attribute of membership in The Club. Therefore, members are encouraged to invite guests to The Club upon payment of a guest fee and subject to reasonable rules and regulations adopted by The Club to preserve the exclusivity of its facilities and their availability for members.
Q: Will my family members be welcome at The Club?
A: The ability to spend quality time with members of the family is of paramount importance. The Club is committed to providing a pleasant environment where this can be accomplished. Each membership in The Club is a family membership, which includes full privileges for spouses and unmarried children under the age of 23, who either live at home or attend school on a full-time basis. The Club intends to provide programs and activities that are appealing to family members of all ages.
Q: Can members be assessed to cover any operating deficits or capital improvements?
A: No. Members will not be subject to any assessments for operating deficits or capital improvements. The Owner will be responsible for all deficits incurred in the operation of The Club and its facilities and for the cost of all capital improvements.
Q: Will there be any other types of membership available in The Club?
A: The Club will offer Corporate Memberships to businesses in the surrounding community. Corporate Members will have the same access to The Club Facilities as a regular Member in the corresponding category of membership. The Club will also offer a limited number of Honorary Memberships to designated persons.
Q: How do I become a Member?
A: To become a Member of The Club, you must submit to The Club a fully completed and signed Membership Agreement, together with a check in the amount of 50% of the required initation fee for Premier or Signature memberships. The balance will be due after 90 days. The Agreement and the check should be submitted to the Membership Director.

3-D Body Scan- APP Personalized Program- Using our state of the art 3-D Body Scanner our Certified exercise specialist will assess your body shape, body composition and wellness state. A detailed program will be designed specifically from the results received on the scan as well as a personal fitness consultation. $210.
Personal Training- Our Exercise Specialist will meet with you one on one, or a group setting to assess your cardio vascular lever, muscle endurance, strength and flexibility. A custom designed program will created for you according to your fitness level. $100.
Assisted Stretch/Sports Stretch- a hands on assisted stretch technique, where our exercise specialists will move peripheral limbs into timed stretch positions, to improve flexibility in the spine, trunk, hips, shoulder girdle and increase range of motion and circulation. Myo Fascial Foam Roller- using a foam roller to release tight fascia which is the connective tissue surrounding the muscles. Our fitness specialist will guide you through various exercises to help release muscular tension and improve range of motion, mobility and circulation. $110.
Nutrition Consultation- Our certified licensed dietician and/or certified nutritionists will assess your current dietary habits and create a weight management program to help improve your overall health and wellbeing. $125.
Sports Nutrition- Our certified sports nutritionists will assess your current dietary habits and energy/fatigue levels, to create a nutrition program that will enhance your overall athletic performance. $125.
Triathlon Training- Work on all 3 fitness disciplines of a triathlon: swim, run and bike or just target one-two of your choice. Our dynamic team of triathlon experts will custom design a program that will assess your performance and give recommendations to improve your athletic performance and achieve your goals. Private Pilates Reformer– Increase coordination, flexibility, range of motion, core strength, balance and lung capacity, performing various exercises on the Pilates Reformer apparatus. $100. Group of 2-5 people -$175.

Julie has been a CopperWynd fitness instructor for over 12 years! Julie graduated from San Diego, California Mesa College in 2004. Has experience in Applied Exercise Physiology, Applied Kinesiology, Weight Training, Exercise and Fitness Assessment, Exercise for Special Populations, and Core and Prevention of Injuries. She completed her internship with a rehabilitation center (Core Rehab) for post surgeries and injuries. Certified in weight loss management from Jenny Craig. Personal Trainer, Group Fitness Instructor
Margaret is our lead female exercise specialist- She is a certified Personal Trainer and Group Fitness Instructor. Margaret has been a part of the CopperWynd Fitness team for over 14 years. With personal training, Margaret’s main focus is Functional Training, training that allows you to function well in your daily life. Margaret is passionate about teaching Group Fitness classes, such as, Yoga, Pilates, Barre, and High-Intensity Interval Training, where she constantly challenges her participants with fresh ideas and innovative ways to condition themselves. In her spare time, Margaret enjoys spending time with her family, playing pickleball and hiking.
Dana has been a practicing health professional for over 20 years encompassing many areas of expertise from clinical practice to teaching at the university level to private practice in integrated and functional nutrition. She is a licensed Registered Dietitian, holds a Master’s Degree in Exercise Physiology from Northern Arizona University and a Bachelor’s Degree in Nutrition from Arizona State University. She is also a licensed massage therapist and holds a certificate in Holistic Lifestyle Coaching for the CHEK Institute in San Diego, CA. In addition to being a life-long learner she participates in a wide variety of athletic pursuits including road and mountain biking, trail running, yoga, swimming, and weight training. She loves to fuel her mind and body with freshly prepared foods and enjoys cooking for herself and others. She can be seen regularly walking side-by-side with her faithful Australian Shepard, Bodhi, to venture out and see what's new in the world.

Kara Thomas joins us from Sanctuary on Camelback Mountain Resort and Spa, where she was the Fitness & Wellness Director for 9 ½ years. She has over 20 years of combined experience in Health and Wellness Management, Fitness Programming and Instruction, Wellness Retreat Speaker, Retail/Fashion Management and Special Events Director for over 25 philanthropic organizations. She is the former TV fitness personality and writer for “First Stretch” on Fox and CBS in Ohio.
Kara was awarded Top 10 Worldwide for Fitness Programming by Spa Finders Reader’s choice awards. She is the creator of Pilates for Life Core Fitness program, CoreFlex for Athletes and The 50-Minute Fitness Retreat DVD, featured in Pilates Style Magazine. Kara is one of the Fitness Experts of Spa Finders 365 Wellness blogs. Her fitness tips and programs have also been featured in magazines such as: Women’s Health, Fitness, Executive Travel, Shape, Vogue, West Jet’s Up, Yoga Journal, AZ Foothills, and Sonoran Live TV.
